Buyers are also catching on with the trend that there is less competition on off season. This spring and summer it was really hard to catch a break if you were trying to buy a home. With most offer's being cash and multiple offers on almost every house, it was almost inevitable that you were going to be outbid.

Why are we hearing that January will be a good buying time as well? Because the holidays will be over and people will be ready to make their next move in the next year before the competition gets hot again.
